Appearance: Rhodes is an Afro-caribbean wrestler. He has a definned physique but not overly muscally. He wears his hair in aperoxide blonde crop, although it does grow longer on a month by month basis. Rhodes also sports a close croppped beard and moustache and has a predominant scar on his left eyebrow. He has a number of fading tatoos over his torso and right leg [nothing that would concern anyone]. He wears either a pair of red jodpurs and matching boots or a pair of white spandex shorts and white boots. This is accompanied by a tight teeshirt proclaiming what is relevant at that moment in time eg.'Heat Magnet'. Outside the ring will wear either dark blue denim workwear or colourful Versace shirts etc.
Background:: Ryan Rhodes was born in Lewisham, in South London. He excelled in all sports as a boy and was an outstanding amateur boxer winning the ABA Welterweight crown as a junior. His family provided a stable background for Rhodes to participate in these sports and spent their time ferrying him around the country to sporting events. Unfortunately Rhodes was often seen as quite flash and as such would get into the odd scrape on the streets. As Rhodes was about to turn pro in boxing he had a chance meeting with British wrestling legend Kendo Nagasaki. Believing the wrestling game to be fake Rhodes was taught a harsh lesson by Nagasaki and British Wrestler Jim Brakes. At this point Rhodes badgered Nagasaki into taking him into his dojo and to teach him all the tricks of the trade. Rhodes spent the good part of two years training in the South London gym -The Krypt where he was pitted against all types of wrestler, travelling on the circuit. It was at the start of 1997 that Nagasaki felt the time was right for Rhodes to embark on his first real taste in the pro ranks, so donning a mask and black singlet Rhodes fought as The Harbinger in the now defunct DECWF based in New York. However after a two-month period Rhodes began to feel homesick. A quick conversation with his mentor turned Rhodes onto the premier European based federation the EEF, and in May 97 Rhodes signed an initial 4 month deal. Rhodes greatest moment arrived on the 2 December 97 when in front of a packed house, including his mother he won the EEF German Championship title. However this was relinquished in February 98 when the EEF ground to a halt, only to be replaced by the AEWF a couple of months later. After a few month in the AEWF it was apparent that Rhodes was not being given the chances that he felt he deserved. A tough decision was called for so Rhodes made an appearance in the AEWF's unsanctioned Hardcore division the Dangerzone. Rhodes did not want to jeopardise his well crafted image so once more donned a mask and leather outfit and wrestled under the monika ? Tremere. Within a month Tremere had become the Dangerzone Champion and had aligned himself with the AEWF?s MethodMen stable under the guidance of Ray Stevens. Tremere then made an unscheduled appearance on AEWF programming, although Rhodes was still appearing as himself. The ball was however well and truly behind Tremere and after some spectacular matches, including a stable match where Tremere suplexed John Messiers of off the top of a Hell in a Cell like construction, Tremere had a match for the AEWF European Championship against Donovan Hawke. The match took place in November 1998 and once more Rhodes masked alter ego surpassed what he had achieved when he defeated Hawkes to become the AEWF Champion. With Stevens and Catiati being crowned AEWF tag team champs the gold was well and truly in the MethodMens corner. With the turn of the new year the AEWF was experiencing financial difficulties and Rhodes with help from Cheryl Beaumont, daughter of AEWF Owner Edward Beaumont negotiated a move to the US with VCW. After a few dark matches Rhodes was named number one contender for the Oakland Oddballs Ironman championship. Rhodes gave a good showing on VCW last major show ?Jackpot? but could not take the belt from the Californian native. With the sudden demise of VCW, Rhodes signed a contract with its successor PRO and entered into an initial feud with Nick ?Wreckin? Carew. It was during this feud that a masked man started appearing at ringside to help out Rhodes and after a few weeks a revelation revealed this character to be long time MethodMen guru, Ray Stevens. Stevens indicated that he was through with wrestling but told the watching world that Rhodes would be reforming the MethodMen to bring the true heart of the sport back to PRO. Following this PRO introduced a Battle Royle to obtain two individuals who would compete for the new High Rollers Championship belt. Rhodes and 'The Philosopher' Frederick Russell won through, against all odds I might add. The following week Rhodes defeated Russell, to become the first (and what was to prove to be only ever) PRO High Roller Champion. Within a few weeks the federation went into liquidation and Rhodes went back to London. After a year of being a free agent around Europe and picking up a few belts Rhodes management team have negotiated a deal with Mr Batee and his e-wrestling.org federation. The future looks good for Rhodes ...
